Kerri takes us across the pond to Denmark. Kim Wall is a well-published and respected Swedish journalist. In the days before she and her partner are to move to Beijing, China, she’s looking to get an interview with Peter Madsen. Madsen is an inventor known for working on rockets and, crucially to this story, submarines. When Kim doesn’t show up at home after the interview, her partner starts to worry, and an investigation is launched.
Starts 00:40:12 – Donna covers the true and horrifying story of Rhoda Derry. Rhoda grew up in Adams County, Illinois. Here she fell in love with a farm boy, Charles Phenix. The events that followed this lead to the awful downfall and mistreatment of Rhoda, which would manifest itself in a number of ways both psychologically and physically for the young girl. Rhoda would eventually be saved in 1904 by Dr. George Zeller.
